The James Lakeland brand was established in London in 1992 by James Lakeland and his Mother, with his sister joining the team shortly after. To this day the brand is a family run business with the head office based in East Finchley, London.
The brand has a very clear vision to dress contemporary women in stylish, luxurious clothing that are made in the highest quality fabrics, predominantly in Italy. Our brands strength is found in our originality- offering exclusive prints, high quality fabrics and unique designs that transcends all ages.
In the last 25 years we have grown significantly, starting out in luxury department stores Harrods and Selfridges, we now have six standalone stores in the UK and are stocked in over 60 shops and concessions globally. This includes key department stores House of Fraser and Fenwick.
James Lakeland has a strong celebrity following which we take great pride in; from members of the Royal family to Hollywood stars, the James Lakeland collection appeals to the most stylish of celebrities and fashion influencers. The onset of social media has led to the James Lakeland brand creating a multi-channel following, with aspirations of growing internationally in new markets.
The company has always had a great team spirit and a creative head office team. We are looking forward to working with positive partners who have a love of quality and an understanding that James Lakeland is a brand that has its roots firmly established in creating unique quality driven products.
The James Lakeland collections are designed by James himself and produced mainly in Italy from the companies own factories. We ask all of our suppliers to commit to the James Lakeland Code of Conduct prior to placing orders with them. This is based on ETI standards and sets out the minimum requirements we expect of our suppliers in relation to working conditions, pay and employment rights and the prevention of slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains. The James Lakeland Code of Conduct also demands that suppliers apply the same standards to home workers and any third parties that may be used in the production of our garments. James Lakeland works with suppliers, which includes visits to factories. At the heart of the company values is the mission to protect and support all employees that work for the brand, either directly or in-directly. James is passionate about not only the women he dresses, but that he has a happy and protected workforce behind him.
